The project was located right in the heart of Lucerne's old town, at the historic Weinmarkt 1 Gerard Darel Lucerne before a fascinating task:
An aging space should be transformed into a modern, elegant retail space — in line with Gerard Darel's sophisticated brand identity.
The aim was to combine the charm of the old town with timeless design that immediately appeals to customers.
The store should not only be aesthetically convincing, but also meet functional requirements such as lighting, ventilation and room layout.
A place that harmoniously combines elegance and practicality while maintaining the special character of the building.
Challenges
The renovation of a store in Lucerne's old town presents particular challenges — and that is exactly what made this project so exciting.
One of the biggest hurdles was the strict requirements of monument protection.
Every change, whether to the portal, walls or interior design, had to be carefully planned and approved in order to preserve the historic character of the building.
In addition, there were the requirements of fire protection, which required a high level of precision and expertise.
Die logistics was another challenge: In the narrow streets of Lucerne's old town, every step had to be precisely coordinated — from delivery of materials to disposal during dismantling.
Despite all of these factors, it was essential to meet the schedule and ensure the highest level of quality.

The result is impressive: An outdated retail space has been transformed into a modern, stylish store that perfectly reflects the elegance of Gerard Darel.
